We are currently seeking:
A part‑time Bunker Gear Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining SAFD firefighting gear to NFPA 1851 standards.
Your responsibilities
Conduct annual inspection of all SAFD Structural Firefighting Gear.
Clean and decontaminate Structural Firefighting Gear as needed.
Track and maintain history of all SAFD Personal Protective Clothing.
Hours: Less than 30 hours per week.
Regular and timely attendance is required.

Requirements and Skills

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Licenses or Certifications
Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
Must possess or obtain, within three months of employment, NFPA 1851 PPE Advanced Care and Cleaning Certification.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
Must be able to bend and stoop.
