Job Overview
Location: 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740. Facility: Monmouth Medical Center. Department: Operating Room. Position Title: Coordinator Technical (T10). Status: Full‑time, hourly. Shift: Day. Pay Range: $22.42 – $31.38 per hour.
Responsibilities
Organize, receive, store, and deliver surgical instruments, consumable supplies and equipment to OR suites quickly and accurately.
Support the integrated virtual SPD/Sterile Core/Materials Management function in the operating room.
Work under the direct supervision of the SPD Manager/Director to anticipate surgeons’ needs and expedite procedures.
Apply specialized experience in surgical procedures, aseptic technique, flash sterilization, and knowledge of supplies and instrumentation.
Utilize surgeons’ preferences and written routines.
Ensure operative suite and equipment meet standards of care.
Maintain inventory and procurement systems as directed by Materials Management and Perioperative Services.
Track and keep par levels for OR‑specific items and PBDS packs needed in the Operating Room.
Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles, unsecured areas, medical errors, incorrect counts, or medication errors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited surgical technician or central service technician program, or trained as a surgical technician in the armed forces, or other acceptable method.
Minimum of two years current experience in a hospital setting, preferred in an operating room environment.
Certification and enrollment in a professional organization desired.
