Information Systems Supervisor – Water and Wastewater Services (WWS) Information Technology Division

General Description
Installs, configures, manages, monitors, and maintains the County network, security, and remote access infrastructure. Works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.

(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)

Requires four (4) years in systems analysis, systems design and/or programming experience relevant to area of assignment including six (6) months lead work/supervisory experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses
None.

Preference

Master's degree in Computer Science or closely related field

ITIL Certification

Microsoft Certification

Security Certification

Linux/Unix Certification

Five (5) years of experience with virtualization technologies

Five (5) years of experience in patching tools for Windows and Unix

Five (5) years of experience with Cloud (AWS/Azure)

Five (5) years of experience in Service Desk tools like ServiceNow

Experience in handling/supervising an IT Service Desk

Excellent communication skills and experience effectively interfacing with both technical and non-technical personnel

Duties and Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and implements approved emerging technologies.

Mentors and develops analysts and technical support staff; documents procedures used to teach and mentor.

Works with Virtual Environment, IT Security, and Physical Security teams to review and refine IT infrastructure management procedures to meet security goals.

Improves the infrastructure that supports the camera security system at WWS, including documentation.

Provides service desk level 2 support; utilizes ServiceNow to review, update and resolve any incident or request task; acts as a liaison with assigned agency's technical staff.

Reviews IT paperwork, approves leave, end user requests and other IT related work; manages projects including fiber replacement, eFax implementation, Office Suite upgrades, PC rollouts, Windows 11 upgrades, UPS replacements, Wi‑Fi projects, laptop and tablet upgrades, and other IT projects.

Performs administrative office duties including procurement of IT hardware and software, enters purchase orders, maintains files, maintains software licenses, works on disaster recovery and maintains yearly capital and operating budget.

Performs server administration tasks – user accounts, quarterly account audits, access to groups, shares and server resources; provides monthly after‑hours on‑call rotation every three months.

Manages projects and advises senior management, supervisors and staff; provides project management documentation, timelines and solutions; responds to senior management report requests.

Supervises, assigns work and is responsible for the performance of software support staff including preparing annual performance reviews, approving leave requests, and following up to ensure project success.

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing sometimes and exerts up to 10 pounds of force regularly or sustained keyboard operations.
