Job Description
We are hiring an IT Field Support Technician for a contract‑to‑hire opportunity with a well‑established organization in the Canton, Ohio area. This role is a great fit for someone early in their IT career who enjoys hands‑on technical work, supporting end users, and traveling to multiple sites.
Responsibilities
Provide hands‑on support for desktops, laptops, printers, network hardware, and business applications
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for branch and office end users
Install, configure, and replace devices across multiple locations
Assist with hardware and software rollouts and upgrades
Collaborate with internal IT teams on troubleshooting, projects, and process improvements
Maintain accurate documentation and complete support‑related tasks
Participate in project work, including equipment upgrades and implementations
Support team knowledge sharing through cross‑training
Take part in an on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours support
Qualifications
Strong customer service and communication skills
Hands‑on experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and end‑user issues
Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019/2022
Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, network configuration, troubleshooting)
Ability to work independently and manage support across multiple locations
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
Skills
1–2 years in IT support, desktop support, field support, or a similar role
Experience supporting users in a multi‑site environment
Comfortable balancing daily support tasks with project‑based work
