This position is located in the Secretary's Office - Adult Services/Internal Affairs section.

Responsibilities

Interview State Employees, inmates, and civilians related to case assignments; conduct successful interviews.

Prepare detailed written reports for the Chief of Operations at DPS&C Headquarters.

Review institution reports and conclusions; document full investigations and provide comprehensive conclusions to administrators.

Analyze data, review policies, and provide recommendations.

Qualifications

Four years of experience in a correctional, behavioral, or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, rehabilitation, or classification of offenders, or in law enforcement or security.

High school diploma or GED; OR one year of experience in any field; OR six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.

Two years of experience in a position equivalent in scope of responsibility or complexity to a Corrections Lieutenant in the State service.

Age 18 or older.

Possession of a current driver's license.

Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, a felony, or be under indictment on a felony charge.

Must not have been found engaged in any form of sexual abuse as described by the Prison Rape Elimination Act.

Benefits

Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $26.37 per hour.

Potential premium pay up to $1.00 an hour for each regular hour worked, based on years of service with DOC.
