What You’ll Do
Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government education location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization when required, and report unusual behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations according to post orders.
Support school-related operations during arrival, dismissal, special events, and after-hours activity by maintaining a visible presence and following established protocols for traffic, access control, and incident response.
Minimum Requirements
Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Customer service experience is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
