
DAS Project Manager- (AZ/NM)

Position Overview
The Project Manager “PM” owns the full lifecycle execution of assigned wireless infrastructure projects from Pre‑Construction through Closeout. As the designated Project Owner, the PM is the single point of accountability for communication, quality, safety, schedule, and finance on every assigned job. The PM ensures everything is handled on time, accurately, and on budget, driving projects toward an ideal outcome: an elated customer satisfied with communication, delivery, and coverage, zero safety incidents, high quality installation, delivery ahead of schedule, in‑line with quoted profit, clean change order management, and a tech team that comes out of the project stronger than before.
This position works alongside the DES Construction Manager and reports directly to the Desert Region Operations Manager. The PM takes ownership of scheduling, billing, change orders, and administrative coordination, freeing the CM and Operations Manager to focus on field execution and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Project Ownership & Execution
Serve as the single point of accountability for assigned projects from Pre‑Construction through Closeout, ensuring nothing slips through cracks across communication, quality, safety, schedule, and finance.
Complete a thorough Design/Scope/Quote (DSQ) review with the Proposal Owner before kickoff.
Develop and maintain project schedules, job trackers, safety plans, submittals, and supporting documentation continually managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform regular site visits for preconstruction walks, QA/QC inspections, punch walks, and scope verification.
Identify and manage project dependencies, critical path, and resource allocation.
Proactively manage scope and schedule changes.
Track a chronology of events, delays, and changes throughout the job.
Track and update project financial health weekly using internal tools.
Proactively develop cost estimates for scope changes and manage change orders on a weekly basis.
Project billing tracking and submissions.
Maintain working knowledge of financial progress on assigned projects.
Submit weekly job health confirmations.
Material & Equipment Procurement
Create material purchase requests and order materials and equipment for assigned projects.
Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to align with the project schedule.
Track project assets, equipment certifications, and rental usage.
Coordinate inventory transfers and manage material logistics across job sites.
Work with Purchasing Dept. for material/equipment pricing, conduct independent material/equipment pricing reviews.
Crew & Subcontractor Management
Schedule and coordinate technician crews for assigned projects.
Conduct subcontractor scope reviews and proactively manage change orders.
Coach, mentor, and supervise project team members and subcontractors.
Champion a strong safety culture: ensure JHAs, daily toolbox talks, daily equipment inspections, proper PPE, and weekly safety audits are completed.
Verify crews have proper tools, materials, training, and project plan.
Report all incidents and safety issues.
Review and approve timecards for assigned crews.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain comprehensive project documentation based on CTS standards, manage and deliver project closeout packages, and creation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, and cost logs.
Deliver fast, accurate daily updates with completion tracking.
Provide two‑week look‑ahead reports on all assigned projects.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal CTS teams.
Quality
Create project plans to be discussed with leads and technicians.
Ensure quality of build and accuracy of exclusion based on drawings and diagrams.
Conduct regular progress photo reviews with internal teams.
Provide constructive feedback to leads and crews.
Technical & Design Support
Work with design teams to review design files and design approaches.
Produce pricing and equipment lists based on up‑to‑date information.
Interpret blueprints and other project documents.
Understand process, required time, resources and schedules of DAS Commissioning, Integration and Optimization.
Maintain a complete understanding of CTS products and services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience – 3–5 years of project management experience with strong technical background, preferably in telecommunications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in customer‑facing project management with the ability to serve as primary client contact.
Advanced knowledge of telecommunications and/or wireless project management.
Proven ability to manage project finances, including budget tracking, billing, and change order management.
Ability to interpret and create project schedules in MS Projects and other tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing detail on any of them.
Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt quickly to change.
Self‑motivated individual with ability to work independently and in team environments with a positive attitude.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Arizona and New Mexico region.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing tech force crews in deployments such as DAS, Small Cell, ERRCS, or public safety wireless systems.
Familiarity with RF design tools such as iBwave.
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience with large‑scale commercial or industrial construction projects, and background in field operations or construction management.
Working Conditions
Office‑based with regular job site visits during active construction phases.
Regional travel required across Arizona and New Mexico – occasional evening or weekend work to support project milestones or urgent client needs.
Active construction site environments requiring appropriate PPE.
Commensurate based upon experience: $80k- $120k
