Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Hammond, Indiana
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000 + 15% Bonus
Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Responsibilities

Oversee the operational success of the facility’s mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical maintenance programs.

Implement industry-best practices for repairs, inspections, and proactive maintenance (PM/PdM) to ensure high equipment uptime.

Maintain and execute a strategic roadmap for ongoing operational enhancements and departmental goals.

Serve as the primary advocate for site safety standards, overseeing HS&E performance, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance such as OSHA 1910.119 (PSM) and RMP.

Develop and monitor departmental budgets, managing costs effectively through basic accounting principles.

Supervise inventory and logistics to ensure parts availability and efficient inventory management.

Guide and develop junior engineers and staff, supporting management initiatives and fostering a safety-focused culture.

Direct plant-specific projects and participate in cross-functional leadership teams.

Ensure maintenance personnel are fully certified and trained in plant protocols, including HAZWOPER and specific skill certifications.

Manage rotating duty programs, lead safety meetings, and administer performance standards for supervisory staff.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) from an accredited institution or equivalent experience and education.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in plant engineering or industrial maintenance.

Deep understanding of industrial maintenance methodologies and OSHA safety regulations.

Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and relevant CMMS platforms.

Strong budgeting, cost control, and mathematical skills.

Proven leadership ability to manage teams, drive organizational change, and mentor technical staff.
