Packaging Changeover Specialist
1st shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00am to 3:00pm
Summary
The Packaging Changeover Specialist maintains high sanitary standards and ensures packaging quality within a safe environment. The role includes ongoing improvement of operational quality.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor assigned machine(s) to detect product defects.
Perform job duties within established quality control guidelines of SOPs and cGMP.
Complete all job‑related documentation accurately and timely.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness of workspace, equipment, and materials at all times.
Perform cleaning duties to maintain sanitary conditions before, during, and after a new job is introduced.
Produce finished goods that are defect‑free, properly identified, and within established standards.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and other tools as required.
Notify Supervisor or Manager if discrepancies arise such as safety, quality, operations, or health concerns.
Apply basic mathematics when necessary.
Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines at all times.
Demonstrate flexibility in assigned work schedule to meet business needs.
Prepare all necessary packaging job paperwork, scans, stages, and component returns.
Use SAP to begin or close jobs and investigate issues during the shift.
Perform cleaning and other activities to reduce changeover times.
Cover associates on lines to continue production during break periods.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of one year of related experience on a packaging line or similar work.
Forklift experience is necessary.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
