What the Role Involves
As an Apprentice Refrigeration Service Tech, you'll be responsible for learning how to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial ice machines, HVAC equipment, and Refrigeration systems that are installed in supermarkets, convenience stores, and food service establishments.

Basic mechanical background preferred
Demonstrate use of power and hand tools
Work on all types of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment, including electrical and energy management controllers, with Journeyman or higher level technician until able to work on this equipment alone
Ability to work on roof, outdoors, mechanical rooms, inside supermarkets, walk in coolers, and freezers, through all seasons of the year

Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required
HVAC technical school completion certification preferred but not required
EPA 608 Certification
Valid Drivers License

The Ideal Candidate
Certification from vocational school a PLUS!
Basic computer skills
Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude
Ability to perform the job in a safe manner
Must completely fill out and submit all job required work orders, forms, and documents
Must adhere to all customer requirements, consistently log in and out of work order tracking system portals
Ability to use laptop and smart phone
Willingness and ability to travel on occasion, work overtime, holidays, nights and weekends as required by varying jobs and on call schedule
Adhere to Hillphoenix safety program, policies, and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, office administration, Journeymen, Supervisors, and Managers in person, by phone and through email
