The Gilbert Residence provides exceptional nursing care to 32 residents. Supportive Living, Assisted Living and Specialized Dementia care to 58 residents. We carry a long tradition of excellence by providing compassionate and dignified care.
The med tech provides direct, primary care to residents, and delegates/supervises the care provided by the resident assistants for a designated shift. He/She is responsible for working in a coordinated effort with the department managers to maintain the smooth function of the Assisted Living and Memory Care units.
DUTIES
Meets with members of the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate resident's care
Document resident activities accurately and in a timely manner
Assist with admission, transfer & discharge of residents
Makes rounds with physician & other team members as needed
Participates in developing, implementing, & revising resident service plans
Communicate and coordinate care with residents & their families
Administer treatments & other direct care
Prepare & administer medication as prescribed
Order or arrange for ordering of pharmaceuticals
Collect specimens as ordered
Promote a positive image of long-term care
Protect the privacy of residents
Provide education & instruction to resident families & staff as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or GED
Med passing experience required
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to lift 50lbs
Knowledge of medications and medication therapies
Positive attitude
Must be reliable
Must be available every other weekend (Sat & Sunday)
