Prep Cook - Q BBQ & Fixin's
Position Summary
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, organizing kitchen production, and supporting overall kitchen readiness at Q BBQ & Fixin's (inside Spring & Main). This role ensures the kitchen is stocked, prepped, and set up for a smooth and efficient service in a fast‑paced, counter‑service BBQ environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients according to recipes and portion standards (chopping, slicing, mixing, portioning)
Assist with BBQ prep including trimming, seasoning, and staging meats
Ensure all prepped items are properly labeled, dated, stored, and rotated (FIFO)
Maintain organization of walk‑ins, storage areas, and prep stations
Monitor prep levels and communicate needs to ensure kitchen readiness for service
Support line cooks by restocking and providing product during service
Assist with opening and closing setup, breakdown, and overall kitchen cleanliness
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years old to apply
Strong attention to detail
High standards of cleanliness
Ability to lead and take direction
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and stand and walk for extended periods
Working knowledge of restaurant kitchen operations
Team‑oriented attitude
