Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Auto Paint Prepper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting by ensuring surfaces are properly cleaned, sanded, masked, and primed. Your work is critical to achieving a high-quality finish and maintaining our standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, and filling imperfections
Mask and tape off areas not to be painted
Clean and degrease surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion
Apply primers and sealers as needed
Inspect surfaces for defects and ensure readiness for paint application
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Collaborate with painters and other team members to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
Previous experience in auto body prep or related field preferred
Knowledge of sanding, masking, and priming techniques
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to dust and fumes (PPE provided)
