Catholic Charities is seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Program Assistant

to support our

Senior Transportation Services

program. This position plays a vital role in ensuring older adults have access to dependable transportation for medical appointments, essential errands, and community connections that enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Develops and schedules program work plans in accordance with program specifications and funding limitations.
Oversees daily operations of the Senior Transportation Services program, including trip scheduling, routing coordination, and service coverage; establishes priorities to meet client needs.
Coordinates transportation services for seniors, including scheduling rides, communicating pick-up times, and addressing service changes or concerns.
Provides training and guidance to drivers, volunteers, and program participants on transportation procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
Maintains frequent communication with seniors, caregivers, drivers, and volunteers to ensure smooth service delivery.
Monitors daily transportation schedules to ensure compliance with program requirements, safety standards, and funding guidelines.
Evaluates program effectiveness by developing and implementing evaluation methods; analyzes data such as trip volume, on-time performance, and client satisfaction; recommends or implements improvements.
Reviews applications and eligibility documentation to determine acceptance into the Senior Transportation Services program.
Implements and enforces agency policies and procedures, including safety and risk management standards.
Coordinates, monitors, and oversees volunteer drivers and transportation volunteers as needed.
Provides coverage and operational support during staff shortages to ensure uninterrupted transportation services.
Responds appropriately and respectfully to the cultural, physical, and cognitive needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision, core values, and activities of Catholic Charities in a positive and professional manner with staff, clients, volunteers, and the general public.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Required

Experience:

One year minimum of administrative/coordinating service

knowledge of issues pertaining to area of assignment or similar workload
computer and technology proficient; must be able to easily use Microsoft Office software
demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports, computer literate and able to meet deadlines and other administrative requirements
must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and able to relate to the public
Must maintain a current driver's license; an insurable driving record, and provide proof of current liability insurance

Education: Associates degree in a relevant field OR a satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
