Your Role as a Housekeeping Supervisor
Skilled Nursing
We are seeking a dependable and experienced
Housekeeping Supervisor
to lead and coordinate housekeeping services within our skilled nursing community. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that meets state, federal, ASI, OSHA, and infection control standards, while supporting residents, staff, and visitors.
What You’ll Do
Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations throughout the facility
Assign duties and provide direction to housekeeping staff for resident rooms, common areas, nurses’ stations, and workspaces
Inspect facility areas to ensure cleanliness and disinfection standards are consistently met
Instruct and coach team members to correct deficiencies and maintain required standards
Develop and maintain housekeeping schedules and assignment coverage
Maintain work performance records and documentation
Participate in hands‑on housekeeping duties as part of the team when needed
Collaborate with the Administrator and department leaders as part of the interdisciplinary team
Ensure compliance with state, federal, ASI, HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control requirements
Monitor proper use of cleaning chemicals, PPE, and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures
Physical Demands
Stand, sit, walk, and change positions frequently
Lift up to 25 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed
Safety Requirements
Follow all OSHA standards and facility safety policies
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of chemicals
Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately
Maintain knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazard communication programs
Report work‑related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
Participate in company drug testing procedures
Work Environment
This position operates in a Skilled Nursing environment and includes frequent interaction with staff, residents, and department leadership. The role involves active supervision, routine inspections, and hands‑on support.
Qualifications
Grade school education required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal regulations
Familiarity with lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and use of PPE
Ability to lead, train, and support a team
