Here is what it’s like to be a Fleet Mechanic with PBNA:
As an experienced Fleet Mechanic, your day‑to‑day duties will include:
Work independently while performing preventive maintenance and repairs
Use leading‑edge technology and programs including voice‑application PM, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, TAAS, and more
Work on Pepsi’s diverse fleet equipment: automobiles, light and heavy trucks, vans, forklifts, etc.
Perform advanced diagnostics across all OEM platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, electric vehicles, material handling equipment and more)
Execute high‑level repairs such as engine and driveline work, after‑treatment and emissions, and safety systems
Adapt and develop repair & maintenance capability for alternative fuel applications (electric vehicle, CNG, B100)
Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary
Maintain documentation and records (vehicle records, pre‑trip checklists)
Answer service calls
Support Pepsi’s safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures
Participate as part of the team that maintains one of the largest fleets in North America
Minimum requirements:
Own basic hand tools (all diagnostic and ergonomic equipment provided)
Physical readiness: lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects (with or without accommodations)
At least 18 years of age
Must be able to pass a forklift driving skills test (if applicable)
Can lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodations)
Experience or training in hydraulic and air brake systems
Experience with after‑treatment and emissions repairs (class 6 – 8 diesel)
Experience with driveline repairs (class 6 – 8 diesel)
Experience using diagnostic platforms (Noregon, SnapOn, Nexiq, Altec, etc.)
Helpful experience and certifications:
Removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specifications
Utilizing diagnostic trouble codes
Parts management and inventory controls
Working under limited supervision (remotely from a direct supervisor)
Shop tools: engine hoists, welding, tire change, small tools
Preventative maintenance programs and activities (tracking miles, usage hours, defect repairs)
Computer use: i‑pad, desktop, hand‑held, laptop for diagnostics
Forklift repairs (propane fuel, electrical, battery, hydraulic, pallet jack)
Working with manufacturing standard manuals and OEM Support tools
Heavy‑duty equipment repairs (class 6 – 8 trucks, brakes, tires, engines, liftgates, heaters, referential units)
Gas or diesel automotive repair training
Engine repairs (class 6 – 8 diesel)
Safety system repairs
Brakes Certification
ASE Electrical Certification
ASE Heavy Duty Certification
ASE Suspension Certification
ASE, Macs or Military AC certification
Driver experience with Class A or B CDL (road testing, on‑site driving)
Light truck repairs (EV trucks, gas‑diesel trucks, vans, support vehicles)
Shift work experience (on‑call, 24/7 availability, 2nd/3rd shift, flexible weeks)
Hotwork/Welding Certification
