Job Summary
Summer position open to high school students. Working summer months (June - August) taking care of the grounds around all County facilities.
Essential Job Functions
Mowing and trimming using equipment and hand tools
Weeding all landscapes
Work with other members of the team
Show up on time and ready to work
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge
Mowers
Hand tools for yard maintenance
Abilities
Ability to take direction from supervisor and other team members
Ability to take initiative and to accomplish all assigned tasks
Ability to work unsupervised
Education and Experience
Colorado Driver’s License required
Must pass Alamosa County background check and pre-employment drug testing

Ability to maneuver uneven terrain. Duties performed in all types of weather conditions, cold, hot temperatures, high winds. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, talk, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see, and hear. Hearing and vision correctable to normal ranges; close-up vision and the ability to adjust focus across a distance. The employee is required to communicate both orally and in writing. Employee must be able to reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls, drive, frequently lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Employee must be able to work in an environment that could be very noisy.
