Job Summary
The Production Trainer coaches/trains new hourly Team Members to meet goals related to workplace safety, food safety/quality, and production requirements. The Production Trainer will be required to achieve department and facility objectives; and must be able to direct, train, coach, and counsel other hourly Team Members in accordance with company policy and procedure. The Production Trainer will implement all training and retention programs at the plant level and is reporting to the Training Supervisor. Responsible for informing and driving company work rules, GMP’s, and policies including the effective recommendation of the correction for employees under their direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conducts training courses and On- the -Job Training for new hire employees.

Assist in conducting New Hire Orientation, Production and Safety Training.

Assist plant supervision with on- the- job training for new and current employees in accordance with plant SOP’s.

Roll out all retention initiatives at the plant including monitoring all new hires performance during the first 45 days.

Maintain highest levels of confidentiality.

Supports team members by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor.

Required to meet daily with all newly hired employees.

Ensure proper methods are followed for production and safety aspects.

Maintains an engaged and collaborative work force.

2. Provides high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues.

Answers routine questions and inquires that require knowledge of established departmental procedures and familiarity with operations and programs within human resources.

Needs a complete understanding of plant SOP’s and training methods for production operations.

3. Offers proactive retention support.

Maintains ongoing relationships with employees to ensure that they are welcomed and add value within our company.

4. Responsible for documentation and administering of operational training programs.

Maintains confidentiality of both current and former employees and their records.

Maintains training personnel files and training database; compiles reports from training database.

5. May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have experience in case ready operations and protein preparation.

Excellent interaction and demonstrational skills.

Ability to conduct on the job skills training.

Patient and positive attitude with inexperienced employees.

Must be well-organized with good attention to detail.

Time and priority management skills.

Proven safety and attendance record.

Personal and professional integrity required.

Activities
May require working on feet for long hours, bending, and stooping.

Repetitive Motion
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

Visual Abilities
Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day.

Working Conditions
Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently around 34 degrees, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their workdays.
