USI/Asteelflash is actively seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist to join our team in Milpitas, CA. The Quality Specialist is responsible for leading and overseeing all quality inspection and assurance activities within the PCBA and Box Build manufacturing operations, ensuring that products meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and industry standards for quality and reliability. This hands‑on leadership position drives continuous improvement, ensures compliance with applicable standards, and supports production teams in achieving high‑quality output and preparing quality reports. This position is 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Operations Leadership
Lead and oversee daily quality inspection activities (IQA, FQC, FQA)
Provide direction and support to quality inspectors and technicians
Ensure consistent application of quality standards across all assembly processes
Approve timecards and manage time‑off requests for QA inspectors, ensuring adequate staffing levels and proper cross‑functional coverage
2. Product & Process Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with:
IPC‑A‑610
IPC‑A‑600
IPC J‑STD‑001
IPC 7711/7721
Monitor product quality to meet customer specifications and reliability requirements
Drive adherence to workmanship standards and internal quality procedures
3. MRB / RMA Management
Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities
Ensure timely closure of MRB and RMA cases
Follow up with root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconforming materials
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
Provide monthly and annual quality performance reports
5. Audit & Compliance
Participate in internal audits and support external/customer audits
Lead preparation of audit reports and ensure closure of findings related to the QA team
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001
6. Leadership & Professional Conduct
Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication across diverse teams
Maintain strong organization, discipline, and time management
Operate effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members
Education / Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent experience
Experience
2+ years of experience in quality within electronics manufacturing
Proven experience in PCBA and Box Build environments
Key Competencies
Strong knowledge of IPC standards (IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑600, J‑STD‑001, IPC 7711/7721)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Power BI (preferred)
Experience with QAD, FTPC, and Agile (preferred)
