Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Lead Instructor

Beyond instruction, you’ll help shape and grow the program. You’ll develop schedules, training routes, and course materials; maintain equipment and coordinate repairs; and partner with local employers and community organizations to expand training opportunities. You’ll also support program operations—overseeing records, compliance with state and federal regulations, and mentoring part‑time instructors to maintain a high‑quality learning experience.

We’re looking for a knowledgeable and steady leader who brings deep expertise in commercial driving and a passion for teaching others. Someone who communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, and can adapt their approach to meet individual learning needs will thrive in this role. The ideal candidate is organized, safety‑focused, and comfortable balancing instruction with program coordination. Minimum Qualifications
Three years full‑time equivalent experience as a professional Class A truck driver, operating a Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) within the last 10 years and demonstrated competency navigating basic computer programs and tools is required. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students and staff from multi‑cultural backgrounds.

Required License and/or Certifications

Must possess and maintain a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

Must possess and maintain a current, valid medical card

Must possess a clean driving record with no violations for previous three years

Work Site Location
Parker Technical Education, Rathdrum

Work Schedule
Works a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed, to satisfy student training needs.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.
