
Legal Word Processor

Responsibilities:
Enhances attorney and staff effectiveness by providing word processing and marketing support. Requires an associate's degree or its equivalent and 5 or more years of related experience.
Reporting Responsibility:
Reports to Administration Manager.
Essential Functions and Duties
Provide Firm-wide high-level word processing support
Coordinate handling of all assignments with other word processing operator
Respond to a high volume of requests for assistance; communicate effectively and promptly
Maintain organized and updated client mailing and marketing lists; coordinate Firm mailings
Work on projects requiring advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing skills
Assist with marketing activities and projects (e.g., articles, press‑releases, ads, interviews)
Maintain updated model HIPAA documents
Assist with publication of bulletins
Liaise with outside marketing company to distribute marketing materials
Assist IT department with website projects
Assume additional responsibilities as required to meet needs of Firm
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to effectively multi‑task, meet deadlines and excel in a team atmosphere
Ability to type at least 65 words per minute with high accuracy rate
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing programs
Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar program
Familiarity with Hummingbird document management system or similar system
Well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of traditional and digital methods of dictation
Ability to work overtime (mornings, evenings and/or weekends) as needed
Education and Experience
Associate's degree or its equivalent and 5 or more years of related experience
