Job Title: Produce Assistant Manager
Primary Supervisor: Produce Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
As a Produce Assistant Manager, you will be assisting in leading and managing all aspects of the produce department. Your role will involve assisting with inventory management, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and freshness for our produce offerings. Join us in creating a vibrant and inviting produce department that provides our customers with a wide variety of fresh and nutritious options.
Responsibilities
Assist in supervising and training produce department staff, providing support to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
Plan and coordinate daily activities in the produce department, including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining cleanliness.
Monitor inventory levels of produce items and assist with ordering and receiving shipments to maintain adequate stock levels.
Ensure proper handling and storage of produce items to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and quality of produce products.
Support and execute strategies to increase sales and promote seasonal produce offerings.
Collaborate with other team members in promotions and cross-departmental initiatives.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their produce selections and addressing any questions or concerns.
Knowledge
Knowledge of a variety of fruits and vegetables, including their seasonal availability, storage requirements, and nutritional benefits.
Understanding of inventory management principles and ordering processes.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
Skills
Leadership: Basic leadership skills for supporting, supervising and motivating a team of associates.
Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with customers and coworkers.
Organization: Excellent organizational skills for managing inventory, scheduling, and coordinating departmental operations.
Abilities
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and stocking produce items.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and handle various tasks as needed.
Teamwork: Collaboration with coworkers and produce department manager to achieve department goals.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in produce management or a related field.
