HIRING HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANICS – SHOP OR FIELD ROLES

Shift
1st shift, Monday-Friday 7:30a-4:30p (must be open to 8am-5pm)
Pay
$30.00 – $40.00/hr (depending on experience)
Position Overview
The Technician plays a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of municipal and industrial equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on mechanical work, hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment setup. Every day brings a different challenge — from outfitting a new plow truck to rebuilding hydraulic components or performing field service for a city fleet.
Job Description
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on municipal and industrial equipment.
Perform repairs, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on sweepers, plows, spreaders, compact equipment, and truck‑mounted systems.
Install new equipment, attachments, hydraulic lines, and control systems on customer vehicles.
Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic prints.
Document work performed, parts used, and recommendations in the service management system.
Communicate repair needs, timelines, and technical findings with service advisors and customers.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop safety standards.
Support field service calls for municipal yards, job sites, and customer locations as needed.
Test, calibrate, and verify equipment operation after repairs or installations.
Required Qualifications
2 years of experience as a technician in heavy equipment, diesel, municipal equipment, or related mechanical fields.
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, lifts, and shop equipment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically active shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience with municipal equipment (sweepers, plows, spreaders, refuse trucks, etc.).
Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience.
Basic welding or fabrication skills.
CDL or willingness to obtain one.
OEM or manufacturer training in heavy equipment or truck systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commerce City, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $45.00/hr.
