Summary
Serve as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA) within the Family Readiness Division (N91) of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) at NAS JRB Fort Worth, TX. The primary purpose is to be the initial point of contact for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment, working closely with the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to provide comprehensive care throughout the reporting process.
Duties
Victim Advocacy/Support Duties (75%)
Provide 24/7 support for victims’ immediate needs including assessment of safety concerns, reporting options, and resource information.
Advocate for victims with law enforcement, medical and legal agencies.
Maintain follow‑up contact, accompany victims to appointments and court proceedings when requested.
Assist victims in setting and prioritizing short‑ and long‑term recovery goals.
Coordinate legal assistance, including filing for civilian or military protective orders.
Serve on the SAPR watch bill.
Notify the SARC of incidents in a timely manner and supply required demographic and incident details for the Defense Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID).
Ensure victims understand that speaking with the SAPR VA is voluntary.
Attend Sexual Assault Case Management Group (CMG) meetings to advocate for the assigned victim.
Report victim support services to the SARC and collaborate on comprehensive care.
Travel within the local area for training and coordination with client and agency stakeholders.
Program Support/Training Duties (25%)
Assist the installation SARC in interfacing with military and civilian agencies to identify resources and facilitate access to services.
Support SARC with the development and coordination of installation SAPR prevention and public‑awareness campaigns and local events.
Ensure marketing materials and 24/7 contact information are prominently displayed across the installation.
Assist in maintaining a cadre of trained, certified unit SAPR VAs.
Help with incident data collection, reporting requirements and capture service delivery outputs in the Fleet and Family Services Management Information System (FFSMIS).
Train commands, SAPR VAs, Unit Victim Advocates (UVAs) and others using standardized CNIC SAPR curriculum.
Ensure SAPR personnel are properly trained on reporting procedures, confidentiality and available support services.
Requirements
Meet federal employment suitability requirements and successfully complete a background investigation.
Pass E‑Verify employment verification check.
Complete Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process requiring two forms of identification from the Form I‑9.
Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. nationality.
Hold a valid state driver’s license.
Accept direct deposit for salary.
Register with or be exempt from Selective Service (for applicable males).
Be available for on‑call duty outside normal work hours, including a 24/7 support line.
Travel up to 25% of the time for work assignments, meetings, training, or court hearings.
Maintain eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance and complete an ANACI via SF‑86.
Qualifications
At least one year of specialized experience directly related to victim advocacy services for adult victims of sexual assault.
Knowledge and experience with primary prevention principles, sexual assault dynamics, and relevant social service delivery systems.
Proficiency in trauma‑informed care approaches and crisis intervention.
Strong communication skills—verbal and written—for collaboration with management, staff, and external agencies.
Experience working with federal (DoD, DON) regulations related to SAPR and sexual harassment victim advocacy.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and FFSMIS for data entry, reporting, and information management.
Skill in virtual video conferencing, training delivery, and evaluation of training effectiveness.
Interpersonal skills to build trust with military personnel and families from diverse backgrounds.
Organizational skills for maintaining accurate SAPR program data and filing systems.
Any part‑time or volunteer experience related to victim advocacy or social services will be credited.
