We are seeking a Laundry Worker to join our community committed to delivering outstanding housekeeping services to our residents. As a Laundry Worker, you will play an important role in all phases of the laundry that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:
Pick up laundry from various floors three to four times daily during shift.
Pick up dirty laundry from Sagecrest and Green Houses as scheduled.
Sort all dirty laundry by kind in accordance with established procedures.
Weigh and load each washing machine appropriately in accordance with established procedures.
Program each machine and record on laundry forms the required information.
Timely deliver personal clothes and laundry to the High Rise, Sagecrest and the Green Houses.
Help fold and dry clean linen as directed.
Follow all infection control practices for the laundry in accordance with established policies and procedures. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Properly mix/dilute laundry detergents/chemicals and products according to instructions.
Detect, correct and/or immediately report situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents or others.
What you’ll bring:
High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) preferred.
Knowledge of procedures required to operate the laundry in a clean, safe and sanitary manner; ability to comply with established sanitation procedures.
Ability to follow infection control practices that may vary to include universal precautions as well as isolation procedures.
Proficient ability to read, write, and understand business documents written in English; ability to understand verbal English and speak English.
Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers; ability to make oneself clearly understood by others.
Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step‑by‑step instructions.
Ability to move laundry carts/equipment throughout the facility, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the job is at or within arm’s reach; depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
Enough strength, mobility and stamina to make frequent location and position changes, unload carts, load washers and push loaded carts up ramps.
Ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.
