The Lab Tech Job Description
The Lab Tech is responsible for sorting through, weighing out, and reporting on sample size piles of commodities for quality purposes. The Lab Tech ensures work areas are clean of debris prior to each sample for accuracy, as well as general cleaning of the separation facility. Duties include sorting out materials, cleaning the sampling area, and reporting results as accurately and efficiently as possible. This career requires the ability to perform basic math, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Your Responsibilities:
Prepares and analyzes sample size piles of commodities.
Records data to ensure accuracy for reporting needs.
Loads and unloads oven with metals to ensure they are dry before testing.
Accurately sizes samples before testing.
Responsible for quality and accuracy of submitted samples.
Follow all safety procedures.
Sorts through and analyzes required metals.
Conducts general cleaning of lab and designated area as assigned.
What you’ll need:
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Basic knowledge of different metals.
Ability to perform basic math, reading, and writing.
Ability to lift and handle 20 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong attention to detail required.
Education:
High school diploma or GED‑equivalent required.
