Job Description
MMCRU Community School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered
Middle School Math Teacher
serving students in grades
5 & 6
for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting diverse learners, committed to high expectations and skilled in collaboration with staff, families and support personnel.
This position teaches (3 sections of 5th grade math, 3 sections of 6th grade math & 1 exploratory class).
Essential Responsibilities
Plan and deliver standards-aligned science instruction that engages middle school learners
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including inquiry-based and hands-on learning experiences
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students
Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction and improve outcomesCreate a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student engagement and achievement
Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
Integrate technology and real-world applications into math instruction
Communicate effectively with students, families and staff regarding student progress
Participate in professional learning communities and district initiatives
Support school-wide expectations, including PBIS and student behavior supports
Qualifications
Valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsement in
Math (K-6, K-8, 5-12)
Strong understanding of Iowa Math Standards
Knowledge of effective instructional practices and assessment strategies
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Commitment to continuous professional growth
Middle school teaching experience preferred, but not required
Coaching opportunities available (Middle School & High School)
