Position Summary:
7th Grade Science Teacher
The Harlan Community School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered 7th Grade Science Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong foundation in scientific concepts. This position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction aligned to Iowa Core Science Standards, assessing student progress, and supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all learners.
The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with students and families, and utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to meet diverse learning needs.
Requirements
Valid Iowa teaching license with endorsement to teach 7th Grade Science
Middle School Science experience preferred, but not required
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
FLSA Status: Exempt
