Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions in Oak Ridge, TN. Pay, benefits, human resource, and employment management functions are provided by AIS.

Responsibilities

Acts as a liaison to executive and functional management.

Develops, approves and directs the implementation of overall IT standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.

Responsible for review and acceptance of IT programs.

Directs assigned projects and support functions for the successful completion of projects.

Oversees the development and maintenance of a qualified and motivated staff.

Reports, to executive and senior management, the status of programs and support activities.

Provides consultation and support to project groups and users in operating systems.

Has budget/financial accountability for the entire IT organization.

Sets the direction of the IT organization.

Develops strategic initiatives to bolster the services provided to the rest of the organization.

Manages Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) operations at a global business unit level.

Creates long-term plans and goals for the organization.

Generates new revenue and business opportunities by effectively foreseeing the global technical and systems capabilities needed to solve emerging business issues, industry trends, and competitive pressures.

Educates business executives and organizations about technology and demonstrates how value is generated from IS&T products and services and investments.

Oversees the design, development, and maintenance of the IT architecture and/or corporate systems portfolio, and various other applications.

Communicates and plans for the potential impact of emerging technologies on the corporate enterprise and organizations that use (or may come to use) IT products and services.

Exhibits strategic management and leadership skills at the highest levels and in a wide variety of contexts.

Has overall responsibility for the personnel activities of assigned organization or function.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Master’s degree in information technology or a related discipline preferred.

15+ years of IT experience in Information Technology.

Extensive and proven experience in Information Technology management.

Special Requirements

Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.

This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
