Civil Cad Designer

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Collaborate with engineers and architects to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise technical plans.

Prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and roadway profiles for civil infrastructure projects.

Revise and update drawings based on engineering feedback, design changes, and field data.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations and standards.

Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related project documentation.

Conduct occasional field visits to gather site data and verify existing conditions for design accuracy.

Coordinate with project team members to ensure timely completion of drafting and design deliverables.

Apply civil engineering and drafting principles to support municipal infrastructure and related projects.

Essential Skills

Civil Engineering degree or Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in civil drafting and design, preferably supporting municipal infrastructure projects.

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Proficiency in Civil 3D.

Ability to develop accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for civil engineering applications.

Ability to interpret engineering and architectural design concepts and convert them into technical plans.

Knowledge of civil design elements such as site layouts, grading, utilities, and roadway profiles.

Ability to revise and update drawings based on feedback and field information.

Experience designing for local municipalities, with experience in the Toledo area considered a plus.

Experience in drafting, design, and civil engineering principles.

Certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related technical field is a plus

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
