Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Monitor Technician, you will monitor central telemetry for patients, record rhythm strips, identify arrhythmias, and report life‑threatening changes to nursing staff. Key responsibilities include:
Accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and alert nursing personnel to arrhythmias.
Run, label, and post rhythm strips according to policy and protocol.
Identify and report equipment problems for corrective action.
Communicate information about dysrhythmias to the primary nurse and patient.
Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to function in stressful situations.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
Must pass the Rhythms and Arrhythmias exam.
Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
Must obtain Basic Arrhythmia Recognition certification within 30 days of employment start date.
