Annual Audit Manager

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C), Richland, WA, United States


This position will assist the Internal Audit Manager, as it relates to the Annual Audit program performance, budgets, resource requirements including audit project completion, resource loading, and professional development of resources.

Directs the day-to-day work of the organization and monitors the progress of the Annual Audit program to ensure timely and accurate completion of audit engagements in accordance with internal policies and IIA Standards.

Responsible for onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and training the team.

Encourages continuous professional development and fosters an environment of collaboration and growth.

Coordinates process improvements and technology integration to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies opportunities for optimization and implements innovative solutions.

Facilitates and empowers the resources to perform at a high level while providing solutions to issues and resolving any concerns that may arise during the audit process.

Maintains a high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders. Presents audit findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant parties.

Ensures all audit activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards. Promotes adherence to best practices within the team.

Identifies potential risks and develops strategies to mitigate them. Provides insights and recommendations to improve risk management processes.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations. Acts as a liaison between the audit team and other departments.

Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness of the audit program. Regularly reviews and analyzes performance data to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Grade 21:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Business Administration or related discipline and;

Ten (10) years of experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role;

or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Grade 22:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Business Administration or related discipline and;

Twelve (12) years of experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role;

or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Grade 23:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Business Administration or related discipline and;

Fourteen (14) years of experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role;

or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Desired Qualifications

Hold an active certification (CFE, CPA, CISA, CIA, etc.)

Experience using audit software.

Experience with audit standards (IIA or GAGAS).

Familiarity with government regulations.

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non‑exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $145,150

Hiring Range Maximum: $246,613
