As an Inspector 2 at MKS, Inc, you will partner with the Inspection team to perform first detailed inspection of incoming or purged parts, materials, components, assemblies, equipment, and document results. In this role, you will report to the Incoming Inspection Supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities

Responsible for performing first detailed inspection of incoming or purged parts, materials, components, assemblies, equipment, and document results.

Coordinates the collection and disposition of purged material.

Determines or assists in determining methods, sequences and procedures necessary for inspection.

Works from written procedures, drawings, sketches and specifications.

Generates Engineering Change Requests to correct drawing issues noted during inspection.

Adapts inspection measuring devices and procedures where necessary.

Required Skills

Completion of high school, vocational training or equivalent is preferred.

2+ years of related experience.

Requires inspection experience, an understanding of inspection techniques, reading, writing and intermediate mathematical skills and the ability to use specialized equipment, read difficult instructions, maintain written records, interpret and utilize blueprints and engineering drawings.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time.

Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination.

Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 lbs.

Ability to remain in a stationary position for 70% of the time.

Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level.

Must be able to exchange accurate information.

Operates in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment.

Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.

Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.

Noise level in the work environment is usually average.

Skills You Bring

Experience using inspection tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, drop indicators, radius gauges, gage blocks, height gauges, and digital multimeters.

Ability to read blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, for the items listed in the job summary.

Maintain accurate records of inspection activity, including part history records, nonconformance reports, and ship‑to‑stock requests.

Work with a minimum of supervision and effectively handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Maintain a professional working relationship with internal customers.

Ability to lift material up to 50 pounds.

Good knowledge of measurement accuracy, measurement terminology.

Theory and operation of CMM Coordinate Measuring Machine preferred. CMM programming experience a plus.

Strong computer skills require the ability to navigate multiple system to obtain drawings, and enter data.

May require working in different facilities.

Hourly Pay Range
$18.71 - $31.52 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
