Position: Workers' Compensation Specialist
This role coordinates care for patients using Workers' Compensation benefits, ensuring appointments are scheduled correctly and smoothly. The specialist reports directly to the site manager and may interact with the Director of Workers Compensation.

Field initial outreach from injured workers or their employers to facilitate services by TOA.

Obtain authorization and pre‑certification for services such as examinations, physical therapy, diagnostics and other ancillary services.

Schedule workers’ compensation appointments, follow‑up appointments, and coordinate ancillary services.

Work closely with employers, insurance adjusters, attorneys, and physicians to communicate and collaborate on workers' compensation case issues.

Manage the workflow of assigned workers' compensation cases, including telephone and email inquiries from employers, insurance carriers, and case managers.

Obtain information and enter pertinent data into our computer systems, ensuring timely distribution of necessary documentation to the proper party.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

At least one year of medical office administration or clinical experience preferred; experience with Workers' Compensation or orthopedic office a plus.

Exceptional customer service and patient focus.

Multitasking ability in a fast‑paced environment, handling a high volume of telephone inquiries and documentation workflow accurately.

Knowledge of workers' compensation and health insurance provisions essential.

Experience collecting co‑payment, deductibles, coinsurance, and balances.

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures; experience with EHR or NextGen a plus.

Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed to meet clinic hours.

Collaborative team player working closely with clinical and administrative colleagues.

Dependability; reliable punctuality and consistent presence to provide timely patient care.
