HR Coordinator Position Overview
A successful candidate will have entry level experience in an HR support position and proven experience as a key administrative assistant to a leadership team with demonstrated ability in developing collaborative relationships across the organization. This HR Coordinator must have the passion, energy, and intellectual curiosity necessary for a fast‑paced, growth‑driven environment, be able to employ forward thinking, and have the ability to anticipate and expeditiously execute tasks, projects, and programs.
HR Coordinator Essential Functions
Providing primary day‑to‑day administrative support to the Human Resources Function.
Processing payroll and adding new hires.
Acting as a liaison on administrative matters with employees.
Full administrative responsibility for tracking open positions and posting requisitions on the Applicant Tracking System.
Processing I9s.
Conducting weekly New Employee Orientation (NEO) presentation.
Researching and suggesting organization process improvements.
Processing employment verifications.
Conducting new hire interviews at 30/60/90 days.
Conducting exit interviews.
Prioritizing matters for handling and processing in a timely manner, tracking to ensure all deadlines are met.
Organizing, maintaining, and updating electronic files and databases.
Facilitating the planning, agendas and arrangement of meetings.
Ensuring and protecting the confidentiality of Thunderbird’s business matters.
Other duties as assigned.
HR Coordinator Required Experience
Basic understanding of HR function within an organization.
Capability to operate at the highest level of integrity, ethical standards, and confidentiality.
Working knowledge of basic business terminology and concepts, and the ability to read, proofread, and organize documents.
Proven ability to be hands‑on, roll‑up sleeves, and demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, and results‑orientation.
Mindset of continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships and influence resources outside one’s direct responsibility.
HR Coordinator Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires you to be onsite daily.
This position is primarily in an office environment.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Influencing skills to establish trust, credibility, and rapport at all levels of the organization; seen as humble, direct, and authentic while possessing professional presence.
Experience with an HRIS system (Paycor preferred).
