Overview
Our office, Southwest Florida Oral Surgery – Fort Myers in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Treatment Coordinator to join our busy specialty practice. This role also brings an exciting change of scenery – you’ll get to travel to our beautiful Cape Coral and Naples locations while expanding your professional network.
Responsibilities
Patient Checkout & Financial Processing
Collect patient balances, co‑payments, deductibles, and pre‑authorized treatment payments.
Process payments via credit card, cash, check, financing programs, or payment plans.
Ensure all payments are posted accurately within the practice management system.
Reconcile daily payment transactions and ensure financial accuracy at checkout.
Keep desk tidy and presentable with all necessary materials.
Background & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of dental or medical office experience, preferably in oral surgery or specialty dentistry.
Strong knowledge of dental and/or medical insurance, including benefit breakdown and authorizations.
Experience with treatment planning and financial presentations.
Proficiency with dental practice management software.
Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
Excellent communication and patient service skills.
Ability to discuss financial matters with professionalism and confidence.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
Experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery or surgical specialty practice.
Knowledge of dental procedure codes (CDT) and medical coding familiarity.
Experience with patient financing programs.
Financial coordination.
Ability to complete insurance verification and interpret benefits.
Ability to communicate and educate patients on their treatment plan(s).
Knowledge of payment processing and collections.
Practice planning presentation.
Organization and accuracy.
