
Production Operator

Overview
Georgia‑Pacific is looking for a Production Team Member to join the Cellulose production team in Brunswick, GA. This position is an entry‑level opportunity with growth potential. Production Team Members support the facility production goals by operating lift trucks, operating paper machinery equipment, and performing housekeeping duties to maintain a safe environment.
Compensation
Starting pay is 21.72 per hour. The role also offers overtime opportunities and quarterly bonuses.
Shift
Rotating 12‑hour shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
What You Will Do
Strictly adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Work as a team to meet and exceed safety, production, and quality goals.
Perform quality checks and keep the designated work area clean throughout the shift.
Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets.
Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning the paper machine's dryer/vent equipment, and operate a forklift to recycle waste from the paper machine.
Assist with troubleshooting minor machine malfunctions, making machine adjustments, and equipment changeovers, which may include working in high and/or confined spaces.
Work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced industrial environment that is hot, cold, humid, and noisy, and may include dust, oil, grease, chemicals and other substances.
Perform tasks that entail lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling for at least 12 hours per day.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience within a manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environment.
Two or more years of a technical degree or higher.
Mechanical experience.
Prior forklift experience.
