Job Purpose
This New Model Process Standards specialist will support New Model (NM) development project teams by standardizing new methods, tools, and business processes to create harmonious workflow across multiple Business Units/Centres in all NA organizations and GO operations.
This subject matter expert (SME) will also govern any rules, guidelines, operational changes that could influence NM development operations including but not limited to HDMA evaluation processes, reporting requirements, cost management processes, program management techniques, evaluator matrix and provide guidance to project members based on overall NM development knowledge.
Key Accountabilities
Lead HDMA cross functional teams and work with other Subject Matter Experts to develop a new Standards, methods, new process, rules and policies to execute New Model development activities.
PDCA and revisit existing methods, process, rules and policies to improve the efficiency and fit the latest requirements. Share information and promote new process/standards to appropriate business partners within North America.
Maintain evaluation report items and judgment sheets.
Lead and Manage NA Design Change Committee facilitation. Organize meeting set up and coordination of executive’s schedules, tracking, execution of the evaluation and archive official documents/comments, including analysis for periodical Business Plan reports.
Follow up on RPC items with each function PICs until those items are closed.
Manage activity and lead coordination for all PL Strengthening sessions (twice/year for each category) working with training group within the unit, summarize results, work with each category lead to set meaningful agenda topics. Attend the sessions for smooth execution.
Maintain all Standards and historical archiving of NM SharePoint site documents and NM evaluation/comment archiving.
Maintain access groups accuracy working with SME within the unit.
Collaborate with management teams & process/system counterparts in Japan GO to ensure alignment for specific NM topics including parts ordering flows, cost request, NM evaluations and so on
Support NM In-House cost request for all projects with global IH parts supply and Global North America cost calculation request to support other region evaluations for models with NA IH parts application.
Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s level degree in a technical field or business/finance, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
Minimum Experience:
At least 8 or more years of experience, of which 5 years should be working in New Model (NM) process or NM development, preferably in the automotive sector
Other Job-Specific Skills:
Understanding of new model development flows and processes.
Process re‑engineering & design
Unit Cost and Financial acumen
Ability to build a diverse network, build consensus, and lead a multi‑site team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple organizations at all levels of executive management are essential for this role.
Workstyle
This position will require the employee to work onsite at our ADC, Raymond, OH facility at least 4 days per workweek. One remote workday a week may be possible, with prior departmental approval.
