Job Title: MS Volleyball Coach
Position Type: Part Time
Salary: $3,007 to $3,007 per year
Job Description
The coach will develop and direct a total middle school volleyball program, including implementing a coaching philosophy that promotes the expectations of school athletics and activities. The coach will coach athletes, train them for interscholastic competition, develop their skills at a competitive level, manage the inventory, ordering, program budget, and evaluation, enforce discipline, nurture student needs and model sportsman-like behavior, and work within OSAA rules and philosophy under direct supervision of the athletic director.
Responsibilities
Implement coaching philosophy in line with school athletics expectations.
Train athletes and prepare them for interscholastic competition.
Develop competitive-level skills of middle school volleyball players.
Manage inventory, ordering, program budget, and program evaluation.
Enforce discipline, nurture student needs, and model sportsman-like behavior.
Work under direct supervision of the Athletic Director and comply with OSAA rules.
Qualifications
Oregon Coaching Certification or willingness to obtain one.
Verification of approved concussion awareness course.
Team leader experience and ability to coordinate program with building‑wide academic and co‑curricular programs.
Experience in coaching volleyball and conditioning training.
CPR and first aid certification required.
OSAA Coach Certification and PACE training completed before first contract day.
Physical Demands
The job requires regular sitting and speaking/reading. Occasionally the employee will stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other manual tasks. Suitable vision, hearing, and mobility is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made as per the Americans with Disabilities Act.
