Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science (PRISMS) seeks a dedicated, proactive, and compassionate full-time Residential Advisor to join our Student Life team. This position plays a critical role in fostering a supportive, structured, and engaging residential environment for our boarding students.

About the Role
The Residential Advisor (RA) provides oversight, leadership, and guidance to students living in Ettl House, PRISMS’ co‑ed residence, which houses approximately 60 boarding students. The RA is one of two full‑time staff members responsible for ensuring the well‑being, safety, and personal development of our boarding community.

Responsibilities

Student Supervision & Mentorship: Provide support, mentorship, and oversight to students, fostering a positive and inclusive residential environment.

Communication & Collaboration: Maintain strong communication with students, parents (many of whom are international), faculty, and staff, particularly the Assistant Principal, Director of Student Life, School Nurse, and fellow RAs.

Health & Well‑being: Monitor students’ physical and mental health, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and guidance.

Community Engagement: Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and personal growth by organising residential activities and encouraging healthy habits.

Responsiveness & Problem‑Solving: Be readily available via text and email to respond to student needs and emergencies.

Multicultural Sensitivity: Given PRISMS’ diverse international student body, including a significant Chinese population, proficiency in both English and Chinese is highly desirable.

Additional Details

The Residential Advisor lives on campus and plays an active role in students’ daily lives.

Housing and meals are provided for the RA.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; experience in residential life or student support preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse adolescent population.

Experience in independent or boarding schools is ideal.

Ability to act as a positive role model, demonstrating patience, independence, and resourcefulness.
