Job Title: Summer Grounds Tech Position

Classification: Classified

Reports To: Director and Assistant Director of Facilities

Position Purpose
Maintain and improve the outdoor spaces of the school, ensuring they are clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for the community.

Essential Functions

Mowing, trimming, laying mulch, pruning trees, leaf clean-up.

Use of various hand tools, rakes, shovels, pruners, etc.

Moving tables, chairs, furniture, etc.

Ability to use a computer, email, and file sharing.

Operate various machinery and power tools.

Troubleshoot power equipment.

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Communicate with team members.

Identify and repair small irrigation issues.

Remove rust.

Assist with painting as needed.

Keep the grounds free of trash and debris.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or G.E.D.

Ability to plan and organize.

Practical problem‑solving skills and decision making.

Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Knowledge of and experience with maintenance and operation of buildings is preferred.

Understanding of Google platform.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; use ladder; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 (25) pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Require close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Occasional work near moving mechanical parts, in wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals, with risk of electrical shock.

Noise level is usually loud.

Work in outside weather conditions.

Terms
Rate of pay to be determined by the School Board.

Evaluation
Evaluation performance on this job will be in accordance with the provisions in the policy handbook.
