Required Skills & Experience
10–15+ years in integration, with deep expertise in WebMethods: Integration Server, Universal Messaging, Designer, MWS
On-prem to AWS cloud migrations
Platform carve-outs / divestitures / separation programs
Strong understanding of API-led integration, microservices
Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, networking, security, IAM).
Client Context
This role supports a strategic separation initiative within the organization, involving the migration of integration platforms from on-premise environments to a dedicated AWS cloud for another subsidiary. The program includes system disentanglement, data separation, and platform modernization.
Role Overview
We are seeking a WebMethods Migration Lead to drive a complex on-prem → AWS migration as part of a business carve-out. This role requires deep WebMethods expertise, strong cloud migration experience, and exceptional ability to engage with Director-level stakeholders onsite.
You will act as the single-threaded owner across technology, delivery, and client engagement, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal business disruption.
Key Responsibilities
1. Migration & Carve-Out Strategy
Define and execute end-to-end migration strategy from on-prem webMethods to AWS cloud.
Lead application and interface inventory analysis, identifying Shared vs dedicated systems
Drive data separation and cleanup strategy (critical for Day 1 readiness).
Define approach for decoupling shared integrations and ensuring business continuity.
2. Technical Leadership (Hands-on + Architectural)
Provide hands-on guidance on WebMethods Integration Server, Universal Messaging, MWS
Migration patterns (rehost, replatform, refactor)
Architect target-state integration landscape (API-led, microservices where applicable).
Ensure security, compliance, and audit readiness in a regulated environment.
3. Program & Delivery Ownership
Own delivery across multiple workstreams: Migration, Data separation, Environment setup, Testing & cutover
Define and manage cutover strategy, rollback plans, and risk mitigation.
Establish governance cadence (status reporting, RAID logs, exec updates).
4. Stakeholder Engagement (Critical Success Factor)
Act as the primary interface with client Director and service owners onsite.
Build strong working relationships across teams within organization
Translate technical complexities into clear business decisions and trade-offs.
Drive alignment across business, infrastructure, security, and integration teams.
Lead distributed teams (onshore/offshore, multi-vendor).
Ensure tight coordination across dependent systems and teams.
Mentor team members and ensure delivery quality.
Program & Stakeholder Management
Experience working directly with Director-level stakeholders in large enterprises.
Strong track record of leading complex, multi-system transformation programs.
Ability to handle ambiguity, incomplete documentation, and legacy complexity.
