Summary:
CareFirst is in the process of migrating over 300 applications to the cloud and is seeking a hands-on Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the development and optimization of production-grade DevOps pipelines. This role will support the transition of applications to AWS, leveraging services such as EKS and EC2.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience building CI/CD pipelines and will collaborate closely with internal teams to support integration and connectivity across CareFirst's cloud environment and product ecosystem.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of overall IT experience
2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud and CI/CD pipeline development for Kubernetes deployments
Experience using Helm charts for configuration packaging and deployment
Kubernetes experience, including deployment within EC2
Experience with ISTIO (or a similar service mesh) for secure deployments
Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting
Familiarity with artifact repository tools (e.g., GitHub, Nexus, Artifactory, CloudBees)
Experience using Jira and Confluence
Strong background in Linux and Windows system administration
