The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Uniform Shop Attendant to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and, after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28‑acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice‑cream shop, and in‑room dining.
Shift:
Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this role is $27.25 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
Essential Functions
Receive, track, and issue team member uniforms on an exchange basis to maintain proper inventory control.
Inspect, organize, and store uniforms, including the proper handling of retired or damaged items as directed.
Accept laundry and dry‑cleaning items from team members; verify, count, and document all items received.
Prepare and maintain accurate laundry and dry‑cleaning logs; coordinate timely processing and return of items.
Distribute processed uniforms and ensure quality standards (cleanliness, pressing, and condition) are met.
Receive new uniform shipments and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
Respond to internal guest requests (e.g., towels, amenities, and other items) in a timely and service‑oriented manner.
Communicate with the dry cleaner and departmental heads via email daily on status updates and other inquiries.
Verify daily manifests received from the dry cleaner.
Ensure dry‑cleaning requests from in‑house guests are delivered to the room by the houseperson on time.
Supportive Functions
Perform minor uniform alterations and repairs, including sewing buttons and mending seams.
Assist with basic linen repairs (e.g., bedspreads, linens) as needed.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the uniform room at all times.
Support team members and assist in other uniform room operations as directed.
Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
