
Locate Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locate Technician to join our team in Ashland, MO. The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to locate requests and accurately identify underground utilities including gas, electric, water, sewer, and telecommunications lines.
Use specialized equipment and maps to mark utility locations on job sites according to industry standards and regulations.
Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure safe excavation practices.
Maintain detailed records of locate activities and report any discrepancies or issues encountered in the field.
Follow all safety protocols and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to utility locating.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and utility drawings.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
This position involves working outdoors on construction sites and in residential or commercial areas. The Locate Technician must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and able to navigate uneven terrain.
