Project Coordinator‑Tower Assessment
EKN Engineering is a fast‑growing civil engineering and technology consulting company located in Irvine, CA. We are searching for a Project Coordinator to join our rapidly growing Tower Assessment team. The Project Coordinator must be capable of assisting in various projects and be comfortable in a fast‑paced environment. The day‑to‑day tasks include performing structural assessments of transmission line structures, quality‑checking assessments completed by team members, and coordinating with internal teams as well as external engineering stakeholders, including experienced Civil Engineers and Corrosion Engineers. Knowledge or experience with electrical utility systems, project management, and/or quality control processes is a plus. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and technically‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage tasks, assignments, schedules, and documentation in a detailed and organized manner
Assist with the coordination and execution of the project in a fast‑paced environment
Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to support project workflows and deliverables
Communicate project status, updates, and issues clearly to team members and leadership
Participate in meetings, take meeting minutes, document action items, and assist with preparation of project materials
Perform and support structural assessments of electrical transmission line structures in accordance with established procedures and checklists
Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing work and ensuring adherence to defined processes
Track project progress and help ensure milestones and deadlines are met
Support onboarding and training of new team members on existing procedures
Identify process inefficiencies and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate records and data within internal systems and tools
Contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages communication, feedback, and accountability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
1-2+ years of experience in project coordination, engineering support, or a related field
Foundational understanding of civil or structural engineering concepts
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to take initiative and accountability for results
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong ethics, professionalism, and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with team members, external stakeholders, and all levels of management to support successful project outcomes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus
