Assistant Purchasers

to perform professional duties in the procurement of materials, supplies and equipment in accordance with administrative codes. Candidates will support the city’s economic growth and innovation.

Salary Range
$83,304 – $101,348

Responsibilities

Receive, analyze, and edit requisitions for purchases.

Consult with department personnel regarding availability, cost, and use of commodities.

Analyze quotations and determine suitable vendors.

Advise user departments and vendors on purchasing methods and procedures.

Investigate and resolve complaints related to receipt of goods and performance of services.

Maintain detailed purchasing records including commodity and service codes.

Assist senior staff on large purchasing projects.

Use computerized systems to process purchase orders, research vendors, and produce reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Professional purchasing experience substituting for required degree up to two (2) years.

Experience identifying vendors, ascertaining quotes, selecting vendors based on criteria, negotiating terms, and procuring goods and services.

Ability to analyze procurement data and produce reports.
