
Warehouse Supervisor

Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and maintains the storeroom with an adequate amount of supplies and materials for use in the production process. This position performs inventory control activities regarding these materials.
Responsibilities
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Utilize computer system to enter information on new stock items.
Enter adjustments and returns to stock.
Process daily issues from Stores inventory.
Maintain current computer records.
Cross reference item records to equipment data files.
Update vendor information, i.e. costs and OEMs.
Monitor supply of storeroom items and prepare requisitions for replenishing supplies.
Maintain an understanding of parts and supplies required for plant production and maintenance needs.
Confers with department managers regarding the importance and/or priority of maintaining specified levels of supplies.
Contact vendors to reconcile overages/shortages in shipments.
Coordinate with vendors to maintain both electrical and mechanical shop stock.
Conduct physical inventory (including off‑site inventory).
Participate and/or conduct safety meetings and inspect storeroom for safety regulation compliance.
Maintain all warehouse housekeeping, storage locations, dead stock termination.
Maintain automated stock re‑order system to ensure adequate stocking levels.
Prepare Return Material Authorization shipments to vendor repair facilities.
Distribute maintenance literature and other pertinent information to plant personnel using the equipment or supplies purchased.
Assist other plant personnel by preparing storeroom requisitions and helping to find parts and other supplies.
Provide vacation relief for Purchasing Agent.
Participate in annual physical inventory activities.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
2 year associate degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience with strong technical/mechanical knowledge.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in general business, accounting or inventory control in a similar or related position.
Proficiency in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.
Ability to lead/manage others.
Knowledge of general accounting principles, purchasing policies and procedures.
Ability to operate equipment such as a 2‑wheel dolly.
Ability to use general office equipment.
Ability to use computers to access and input data, such as in database and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly and work from general policies and objectives.
Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy is needed.
