Job Summary: Serve as a dedicated healthcare provider collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to deliver primary and women's health care. Work closely with sponsoring physicians and healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. Provide technical and scientific oversight for the onsite laboratory when assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Maintain accurate and legible medical records with proficiency in clinic computer systems including billing and meaningful use. Manage time and supplies efficiently, support scheduling improvements, and participate in cost-effective supply changes. Provide technical consultation for laboratory supervision. Assist patients in arranging continuity of care through community resources and complete timely billing for services.
  • Quality: Establish and confirm medical diagnoses related to patient complaints. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and imaging procedures. Prescribe medications and manage follow-up care. Follow established protocols in collaboration with sponsoring physicians to ensure positive patient outcomes. Prepare and analyze quality improvement data and educate colleagues. Oversee laboratory quality control programs and resolve technical issues to maintain testing integrity.
  • Patient Satisfaction: Prioritize and adjust patient care plans based on assessments and diagnostic findings. Provide direct patient education, counseling, and support. Assist with referrals to specialists or community resources. Assess cognitive and personal factors affecting patients and families. Represent the healthcare organization positively in community and hospital events.
  • Patient Safety: Organize and delegate patient safety efforts tailored to developmental stages. Ensure care is accurate, current, and appropriate for all age groups served. Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other professionals to evaluate and manage patient risk. Conduct comprehensive health assessments including psychosocial and medical history.
  • Professional Growth: Engage in peer review, competency testing, and staff evaluations. Pursue continuing education to stay current with clinical knowledge and trends. Maintain educational records and participate in annual reviews. Provide and receive constructive feedback to improve workplace and peer performance.
  • Customer Service: Uphold high standards of customer service, addressing ethical issues and fostering teamwork. Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to patients, visitors, and colleagues. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, staff, and external contacts. Be accessible for laboratory consultation as needed.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required for new hires.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Area-specific education may be required and maintained upon hire.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Current active Registered Nurse licensure by the state nursing board.
  • Certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) required for new hires.
