The Itasca Community Library is seeking a reliable professional to serve as an Administrative Assistant. Serving the traditional and deeply rooted village of Itasca, the library provides warm and friendly service to many generations of residents.
The Administrative Assistant contributes to the library's effective operations by managing and coordinating financial, administrative, and benefits tasks under the supervision of the Library Director. The Administrative Assistant handles accounts payable tasks and maintains financial records in collaboration with the library’s accountant. The position is also responsible for the preparation and handling of meeting minutes, contracts, and other library records. Finally, they monitor and administer employee benefits by liaising with Village of Itasca and health benefits staff.
A strong candidate will have:
Knowledge of general office and accounting practices, procedures, and software programs.
Desire and ability to work with colleagues with friendliness, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to set priorities for work to be done and meet deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, vendors, technicians, government officials, and the general public.
Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions.
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Attendance at monthly board meetings (3rd Tuesday of every month) is a must.
